We’re off to Rosetown this weekend

Shout out to Marissa, Andy, Jocelyn, Iryna, Maura and their families who are joining us in Rosetown for the Canadian Contemporary Showcase Festival this weekend. These students have spent the last two months preparing pieces written by Canadian composers, including Andrew Harbridge, Tyler Seidenberg, and Beverly Porter. I can’t wait to hear their performances and what adjudicator Everett Hopfner has to offer. We will also be enjoying pizza supper/lunch and learning to play the ukulele as a group. So much fun!

Learning the piano can be a very solo endeavour most of the time, especially in a small, rural town like Eston. Events like this Showcase are wonderful for bringing everyone together and providing the space for students to meet and mingle with other young pianists in the area. 😄
